Chapter 2

And wait he very much did (“So sorry poppet totally snowed under here - send location and ill get someone to pick you up.”) It’s 41 degrees today and by the time Alli’s purple Fiat 500 made an appearance, all the blood in Starmer’s head had turned to builder’s tea. He’d lost the strength for the usual ‘Oh no, honestly - don’t’ when the driver moved to haul his luggage into the boot, and cut a beeline for the air-con - opting for the passenger seat, inexplicably.
