Dark think-tankers and thralls alike have settled on the idea that woke will be defeated through precise changes to legislation, which the Tories Failed to do in their fourteen years of Government. One such piece of legislation which they have identified is the Equality Act, particularly the Public Sector Equality Duty. I am sceptical of this claim as I believe that the anti-meritocratic sickness is much deeper, much more profound.

To make this case, we are going to examine the career of Kemi Badenoch, who has just become leader of the Conservative Party. We must ask ourselves throughout: would this story have been possible without the Equality Act of 2010? I believe the answer is yes.
