I have consistently believed that not uniting the right around a single party would be a disaster, but a first glance at the election results and the MPs it has produced is making me question how likely this split is. Structurally, the Conservative Party now looks set to cohere around something akin to the ‘Andreessen Consensus’ which will be able to comfortably defeat the Labour Party in 2029.
